Why can't the Democrats be a little imaginative? |
|
And ask the Republicans to write their own bill for regulating Wall Street and the Big Banks? Unless they don't want to do anything??
The Democrats will provide each of their "suggestions" to the Senate floor for individual votes. What more can they ask? The Democratic Party would then make their own "suggestions" and put them up for individual votes as well.
If the Republicans refuse, they will have shown the American people where they stand.

When it comes down to PASSING LEGISLATION our government is one BIG, Happy, Corporate, Right-Wing Duopoly.
The players fret upon the stage and then PASS some legislation that mainly benefits the large multi-national corporations who OWN this Nation.
Follow the gyrations but "the end" is always the same.

That would simply delay the process and we know what kind of bill we'd get from the republicans: a useless one.
Instead, Obama should put reform into place, and when its policies benefit America people will know the republicans did nothing to help and realize how worthless they are.
To me that's better than letting them propose crappy initiatives that we're going to throw out anyway and then giving the Republicans an opportunity to take partial credit for any success.
