Have you recovered from the Bush Presidency yet??
Not just monetarily but physically? It was futile and physically depressing to watch the Bush Administration slowly tear down everything.

"Miss me yet?" Not fucking hardly!

People have deep scars from what the Bush Presidency inflicted upon this country. About the only people that still support the Bush Presidency are the "tea-baggers" and hard-right Republicans. But they have scars also, even if many of them refuse to show it.

Many folks are just now recovering from the trauma of seeing their Constitution shit upon. It is unfortunate that the Obama Adminstration has not done enough to help with this recovery. The psyche of America was deeply damaged in the last nine or ten years.

Only now, are people starting to recover from this assault upon our freedoms and liberties. That is why it is so insane of the "tea-baggers" to pretend they just woke up. Like Rip Van Winkle, they have no idea what happened the last ten years.

3. Yes! I no longer wince and rush to turn off the radio when I hear my
President speak. I can proudly say that in 8 years, I never heard a full sentence from what used to pass for a President. And I almost never saw more than a split second of his face. Now I delight in hearing our President (don't usually see him because no longer have tv)and have just about obliterated the bad memory from my mind.

14. Recovering from the Constitution being shit upon?
Well, I was starting to recover. Right up until Obama publicly announced the legal creation of a CIA assassination squad that is allowed to kill US citizens without a trial, without any evidence, and without a chance for the accused to face his accusers.

One of the most basic tenants of FREEDOM is that the government can't just come to your house or to another country, or in your car, or while you are on the shitter, and shoot you on their word alone that you are guilty.

I'm sorry, but while Obama has done a number of good things, he has also "shit on the Constitution" with the same vigor as GWB did. Burned it and pissed on the ashes. But the economy is improving so who needs freedom.

19. Not even close ...
- not until they're prosecuted for the war-crime of invading Iraq
- not until they're prosecuted for the "quaint" crime of systematic torture
- not until they're prosecuted for unlawfully spying on US citizens
- not until they're prosecuted for their policy of extraordinary rendition
- not until the Justice department is purged of the ideologues they hired with their right-wing filter on civil service jobs
- not until all our government polices are reality-based
- not until the Supreme Court stops acting like a corporation's board-room

Not until the people of the US wake up and decide that maybe, just maybe, rational thought shouldn't be discouraged and that they really need to pay attention.

20. During the '08 campaign season
I made some buttons with a picture of a cancer ribbon on them, and the words "I survived Bush too!"

I'm still surviving both.

yeah, I'm old enough I remember Ronnie as governor. And I remember when the mentally ill in California were cared for in hospitals instead of leaving them to die on street corners.

27. Bingo on the earlier reply--I haven't covered from NAFTA yet,
or the Clinton acceleration of the concentration of wealth that made the bush debacle inevitable.

The tragedy is that Obama doesn't seem to have learned from it.
