Arizona trying to become extremely racist |
|
Arizona has decided to go forward into the past by passing one of the most racist laws since Jim Crow. Hopefully Governor Jan Brewer will be even half-witted enough to veto it, but she is a woman that has proven to be maybe one quarter witted.
I grew up in Jim Crow Mississippi and until the day I left 3 years ago, I saw the damage such a reputation that being racist has done. Once you get the reputation you don't lose it very fast at all. I can still remember my black classmates who weren't as fortunate as my classmate Walter Payton wondering how they could get a decent chance to move up. The damage divides towns both physically and morally, and it takes generations to overcome.
Hopefully Arizona citizens will do the right thing and call the Governor to veto this outrage. The number is (602) 542-4331. I called earlier and seems they are getting a lot of calls so the more we call the more likely this stupid bill will be veto.

They have been racist for a long, long time. Remember they were one of the few states to initially reject a Martin Luther King holiday.

2. Yeah but this state is trying to move beyond even Mississippi |

I grew up in Jim Crow Mississippi and this stupid law would not even be passed then. Reason it wouldn't be is that the racist depended on the blacks to work cheap and be there for the crappy jobs.
