Governor Thompson was later asked if he would support employers who want to keep homosexuals out of their workplaces.
"It should be left up to the individual business," he said, answering the question in the affirmative.

Hmm... Thompson, if the question was asked instead as whether he would support employers who want to keep Christians out of their workplaces, do you think he would have answered it equivalently with "It should be left up to the individual business"?
If he rationalizes that employers wouldn't be practicing discrimination since "homosexuality is a lifestyle choice", then how can that same logic not also be applied to someone's religion? Wish someone had followed up with a question like that to see how he would respond and rationalize his response! Of course then he'd turn around and say some BS like "this is a Christian country based on Christian principles", and therefore he'd say we can't have people kept out for supporting the principles of our country. And he'd probably add that it would be OK for them to keep out Muslims though!
