Just remember that right now, all across America,
there are some Republicans who are more convinced than ever that their choice of candidate hit it out of the ball park.

3. I didn't mean to scare you
but the thought occurred to me and I started laughing out loud about it. It was either laugh at the thought or start crying.

4. If that's their best and brightest
Then most of the things I've thought about the state of the Republican party is more accurate than I could have imagined. I really don't know whether to laugh or cry.

6. You scared me for sure.
I know what you say is true. Also, true is that the scales are falling from the eyes of many tried and true Republicans. I will not do an "I told you so" to those repentants as much as I want to. I will just be grateful.

10. One of them is my neighbor
He listens to Faux Noise 24/7. We work out of the house and his living room TV is near the window I work by. I hear it blaring from his house all day long. He sits there and yells in agreement with the idiots and uses words like "liberal" and "progressive" as pejoratives on the few occasions he speaks to me. He wants taxes cut and social programs cut. Everything is like a communist plot to him. Of course, he's able to sit at home and watch TV all day because he's living on public assistance due to his low IQ and inability to work. :banghead:

12. Doesn't that get you with Republicans? They can't see who
is buttering their bread. When my husband was getting dialysis his nurse, care giver and her husband were rabid Republicans. Yet, since no private insurers want to deal with dialysis patients, most of their revenues come from Medicare and Medicaid, government programs. Not only that her husband was a fireman, also on the government and taxpayer's dole. Yet neither of them considered that they were being paid by taxpayers.

13. I agree
A good friend of mine has a daughter who is a rabid Republican and was getting by on assistance until she went back to school with the help of federal loans. The daughter now works at a government job (with subsidized health care and paid vacations) but still complains about bloated government and "those damned labor union" types that want to socialize everything. It's unreal.

And then there's the corollary: when something bad happens to me, the government needs to do something/stay out of it. I have a neighbor who was able to overcome his rabid support of pro-life Republicans when his granddaughter became pregnant out of wedlock. All of a sudden abortions weren't so evil.

"Real Americans don't believe in evolution" "That's because all life is sacred and liburals hate life and America" "liburals hate America so much they want all the scary people in the world (whether imaginary or not) to come here!" "Liburals want terrorists to come here, perform abortions and harvest stem cells!"

17. Personally, I'd like to see Brownback get more attention
The Kansas GOP is already in shambles. They're losing party members. One of Brownback's biggest problems right now is that he has no state party that can effectively stand behind him.

And the more Brownback gets the spotlight the less popular Mr. "Save the Snowflake babies" is around here. And the more attention he garners increases the number of local moderate Republicans who will bail from the state GOP because it's controlled by RW fundamentalists. It's a win win.
