So a judge found that the national day of prayer violates the establishment clause |
|
and we have, predictably mind you, a US Congress Critter, of the Republican persuasion rant on it. Mind you the COUNTRY WAS NOT FOUNDED ON RELIGIOUS PRINCIPLES.
Yes you could say I am hot and bothered. Doing a lot of readying on the Colonial and Early Republic, and ohh boy, these people had a name at the time... they were called LOYALISTS... or ARISTOCRATS. They violate all kinds of Republican principles... no you silly not the Party, the country.
Established official religion was tied with the tithe... and with a transfer of wealth from the working man (sorry ladies, you and I were not included in the public sphere) to the Aristocratic elite. They were tied with European excesses.
There, I feel better now...
Oh and I tend to agree with the Judge, it does violate the Establishment clause.

1. How could an OFFICIAL NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER |
|
not violate the establishment clause? It ain't the Church of England, but it is pretty damn close.

4. Simple, politics and the judge did not order the suspention |
|
as long as we are still in litigation.
This may go to the USSC...
Oh and politics is a strong.
Oh and here is one more. We are still fighting over the War of Independence and the Civil War. Some of those battles are not over, but scabs that every so often are pulled open.

5. Of course the judge made the right call |
|
The government is not preventing anyone from having a national day of prayer. Let somebody like Billy Graham proclaim it, as long as it is not the government.
Which rant do you mean? Pardon me, but there have been so many, it's hard to keep track of them all. :)

6. One of our Congress critters, claimed that... this was a religious |
|
nation and that Holder should challenge the decision because we were founded on Religious principles.
Sorry, did not catch the name. Just the usual suspect party.

8. I got the feeling that we are at one of those generational changes |
|
populist anger, (against both parties) rumors of NAFTA repeal fans growing... we might actually see real reform of the banking system... and this... well they happen once a generation, and we are actually late for that.
So who knows?
