We got NO Global Climate Change... no Siree
anybody else finding these LATE rains a bit strange?

Yes, we NEED the water, but next person that tells me local weather is not getting a little strange....

Oh and yes I know the difference between CLIMATE change and weather patters, but they are a tad related. When your weather patterns get stranger and stranger, they usually indicate something IS CHANGING.

And trust me, a winter storm in the middle of April IS down right strange in So Cal...

Now this is hot chocolate weather, by the way... in fact, I think it is time to just go ahead and get myself a nice LATTE...

Hey at least it is not just my mom in Mexico City noticing these changes over the last decade. It's now reached HERE.

1. Yes, for years it has never rained past
the start of April. It is totally weird.

2. Im loving it
But we had these kinds of rains in the 80's through the mid 90's on a regular basis, so Im not sure if this is a change or a return to a normal pattern we used to always have.

4. The weather here is like it was in the mid 80s
Not nearly as balmy as the late 90s and 00s.

6. I was here inthe mid 80s and we had rains up to the begginging
of April...

Though it was windy and cold in June (for So Cal)

It could be El Nino pattern, but still

5. 68 degrees in Yuma - should be in the100s! Lots of overcast but no rain,
I'm not really comlaining, just agreeing that something is going on with climate change.

7. we're getting into an odd pattern.
Edited on Wed Apr-21-10 10:21 PM by yodoobo
In the winter freepers claims that global warming is bunk because its colder than normal. We point out weather is not climate and that they are wrong. Because they are.

Then in the spring, we claim that global warming is real because its warmer, or the winter ended sooner(or later) , or its raining or not raining more than we recall within our short lives. Yea climate is not weather "but this is different". We are right. Because we are.

In any event, pointing to a variation at a specific data point is good conversation and can be fun ;), but its not going to convince the other side - nor should it.

9. Nah but the real science done by people with PhD's will not convince them either
it is an exaggeration I tell you.

But these observations by simple us, are just that, and they do tell us how local variations are part of the pattern.

Oh and by the way, my mom, Mexico City... it is getting hotter and drier. Not just the locals noticing, but the national weather service (equivalent) statistics.

But all that sciency stuff will not convince those who deny it is actually happening... nor will their lying eyes convince them of it either.

13. correct. The Yuma example is a good one
Yes, its cooler this week in Yuma than the average temps for this time of year. But the average high and low for Yuma thus far this month (92 and 46) is not out of line for the historical average (87 and 52)

12. Hot weather and no rain for 2 weeks here in Fargo. Big fire danger.
The humidity in the early afternoon was 28%, VERY dry. The temperatures have generally been hovering between 65 and 75. only one substantial rain shower all month and, amazingly, it's been far to warm for snow.

The weather has been really out of whack here going on 3 years, now.
