It somewhat fits that Fear Socialism thing they've got going.
I don't think the 1950s creators were presenting a black character.
The salesman lacks almost every characteristic/stereotype that animators would have used for an African American.
Only the darker skin can be counted as such a feature, and that skin could be hispanic, middle eastern, or other.
Interesting how they're using this as propaganda, but not surprising.
Most teabaggers seem to want to go back to the nineteen fifties, if not the eighteen fifties.

Let's go back to the marginal tax rates when that was produced. I believe they were close to 80% or 90% on the top bracket.
