The President signed a healthcare bill after a long and intense battle with the Repubs and the insurance companies.
General Motors has paid back the loan they got from the government. Many people were against that when it happened. Now it looks like a great victory for President Obama?
As the President prepares to give a speech about financial reform, it is expected to pass with votes from both Parties and will be seen as a big win for the President.
The economy seems to be heading in the right direction. Jobs are picking up, according to the latest statistics. This will help the Democrats in the November elections. Even though the latest Gallup poll shows that most people still blame George W Bush for the downturn in the economy.
What else will be passed before the elections in November? Immigration reform? Repeal of the DADT?
Suddenly, the Republican hopes for a sweep in November appear to be at risk. The prognosticators may need to re-evaluate their predictions of a Republican landslide? The President and the Democrats are beginning to look a lot stronger.

2. I can see them holding off on: |
|
Immigration reform DADT Cap & Trade
Until after the 2010 elections. They will hold tight and not cause any controversy (all of these are pretty hot topics).
Instead they will fund raise, and focus on the accomplishments of the Democratic Party.

and just hope the economy continues to improve? After all, the President has only been in office for 15 months.

Now let's hope that the "want it all, and want it now" faction of the left understand that changes take time, tact, and patience. That's the reality of the world we live in. Obama is on the right track in that what's important to me is not so much what I can reap from what he sows, but rather what my children, and grandchildren will reap from this administration's efforts. During the shrub years Democrats failed to list the facts in their efforts to thwart the ignorance and injustice brought upon us by the right, but at the same time, and although I wish they were better at stating simple facts, they will not resort to the underhanded tactics used by the right wing, and their efforts, in the long run, {think "children and grandchildren"} will be more appreciated, and long lasting than what the fucking shit for brains repugs ever dreamed of. Right now, we're our own worst enemy. Thanks. quickesst

It is sad that so many need instant gratification. Anything less is viewed as failure.

...but the real thanks goes to the concept of "logic", the most important word in the world dictionary. I am honored to have the capacity to use and appreciate it, although at times it pisses a lot of people off. In other words, while the compliment is appreciated now, you may not think so tomorrow, or perhaps you will. Thanks. quickesst

7. We'll be thanking Pres. Obama big time in about 4 years...... |
|
I'll support him full throttle till then, even when I disagree with his approach or with some of his policies. What I will do is to write using the WH contact page and make some calls, both when I disagree and also to thank him when I agree with what he's done. What I won't do is publicly denigrate the man, cause he appears to be working quite hard in moving us forward, and he's got enough feet up his ass... and I only voted for what he campaigned on, and not much more.... certainly didn't vote for a miracle, cause I don't believe in those.
