The Afghan Conflict: A Map of Possible Scenarios (Impressive Infographic)

The Afghan Conflict - A Map of Possible Scenarios - project has been initiated by the lecture Politikvisualisierung in winter 2009/2010 at the Fachhochschule Potsdam. It is a collaboration work of Pierre la Baume, Karen Hentschel and Marc Tiedemann which has been guided by prof. Boris Müller and Max Steinbeis.

4. True, but most of the black are not viable, realistic possibilities.
Only possibilities in that 'anything could happen'.

5. There is a fair amount of red on the linked page
Even some of the "black" outcomes really aren't so hot either. For example, one of them just has the Taliban returning to full control after a US pull-out. I guess black lines just represent a situation where conflict levels have decreased, not necessarily a "good" situation.
