Note to GOP: No one under the age of 41 voted for Reagan |
|
This Gipper nostalgia isn't going to take hold. You're livng in the past. Half the electorate is sick of hearing of the Legend of St. Bonzo.
Why don't you focus on the legacy of your recent president...Oh wait, I forgot. 2/3 of the country is sick of him, too.

2. What does Republicanism offer young people? |
|
I don't have money/power/influence. I need the government to work hard for me. Not this laissez-faire bullshit.

3. I counted at least 14 mentions of Ronald Reagan |
|
And at one point, Brownback said they were "The Ronald Reagan Party". Hm I didn't know they'd changed the name of their party, did you? After tonight I guess they might as well go ahead and change their name!
I lived through Reagan and he does NOT live up to his reputation! He was a pretty good actor and made people feel good, like when they watched an old Western or something. And he smiled. That was the extent of it.
And all the while was doing stuff behind the scenes like Iran Contra. And ballooning the deficit. Stuff like that.
The name Bush was poison tonight. Someone mentioned it once--accidentally--and then quickly reverted to saying "the president".
