"We lined the border with our crappiest states"
LOL Steve Colbert sometimes really cracks me up. That was a quip from last night while he was addressing the Immigration problem

1. As someone born in CA and lived in NM I don't find it funny
Unless he is talking about Wa, NY, etc. Then it is hilarious!....

4. I live in a border state and I found it hilarious
In fact I live in the ONLY state that borders two separate countries.

2. he gets away with that
because he knows that if a Texan, like me, is watching, I'm gonna at least see the humor even if it stings.

3. Well, as a former AZ resident, I find that not so funny myself.

As a matter of fact, before the massive onslaught of snowbirds there, AZ was a pretty damn mellow, and easy to live in state.

Then the shitheads from other states starting invading. Old, lily-white, racist shitbags, from states like wis-can-sun, ohio, indiana, nebraska, idaho, virginia, conneticut. In other words; any state that gets below 20 degrees in the winter. Hell...McCain is not from AZ, he's just another parasitic opportunist that takes political advantages there. That's what side his bread is buttered on.

I lived out there for several years, and watched these jerks transform a pretty damn mellow place into the butt of many a joke that it is today. I watched as they came out there in their cadillacs and their town cars, towing their fucking golf carts and dragging their separatist racist-enclave mentality with them. Watched as they formed little snowbird communities like peoria, superstition springs, sun-city, and anthem. Watched and listened, as they did what racist jackoffs do best...separate themselves into little tribes, and sneer amongst themselves on the rare occasions that they ventured out from their gates and on to the 101, about how they ran in to the locals while they were downtown at the suns game. OK people, but they are just too dark skinned, too smelly, and they just don't speak themselves any good english.

I know he was trying to use humor to convey a point, but that was a gigantic fail on his part. AZ is just a perfect microcosm of these (un)-United States of America, and a perfect representation of manifest destiny, and gentrification. Just remember, when people point fingers and laugh at states like Arizona, they are actually pointing their fingers at laughing at everyone in the country.

5. The thing that I have wondered as an Arizona native myself
is that they have turned the area of El Mirage and Surprise into a McCommunity. However, when I lived there, it was home to many immigrants. What did they do with them?

7. Those people paid for your water projects
And bailed out your savings and loans when the real estate market failed in the 1980s.

6. As a Native Texan, it's funny
Not because I believe Texas (or any other state) is crappy, but because I recognize good political humor.
