Employee sues Ritz-Carlton over 'no colored waiter' request

NAPLES: A waiter is suing the Ritz-Carlton Naples after he says the hotel honored a request from a British family who asked not to be served by a black waiter or one with a foreign accent.

Wadner Tranchant, 30, filed the discrimination lawsuit against the luxury hotel and vice president and managing director Edward Staros over an incident in March.

Tranchant's suit claims the Rodney Morgan family arrived at the hotel in late February and made their preference not to be served by "people of color" or with "foreign accents" known to the staff.

That information was allegedly entered into the hotel's computer system at the direction of Staros, with the notation, "...as per Mr. Staros this couple is very very prejudice and do like like ppl of color or foreign accents."

This pisses me off on so many levels! :mad: One thing that confuses me is this, The incident took place in America, the guests are British, so what up with this "foreign accents"?

too. There's a broad and varied palette. Some are various shades of pink, some are permanently orange like Boehner, etc. etc.

A black sales person greeted her and she asked for someone not black. The sales manager came out and told the customer she wasn't welcome.
