Being Pro Choice Includes Persons Who |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-22-10 02:14 PM by boston bean
Would never have an abortion themselves.
Believe that abortion is evil.
Belive abortion is a sin.
Believe abortion is killing a baby.
You can be all of those things and be pro choice, as long as you do not force your view or will upon others.
Pro Choice means making whatever choice you want regarding your own body without forcing your views or will upon another person.
If you belong to one of the categories above there is no need to make the distinction that you are pro choice but pro life personally.

7. It also includes people who *really* don't want government coming between them and their doctor. |

8. Being pro-choice means you want to keep legal the choice of a legal hygienic abortion. |
|
It means you support keeping the choice of not only staying pregnant, or of having a back alley or do-it-yourself abortion, or having an abortion if you have enough money to find someone to give you one, but also the choice of having a legal hygienic medical abortion without numerous hoops to limit that choice.
As my mother said, "I will fight for the right for you to get a legal hygienic medical abortion, though would not want one myself".
If you do not fight for that right, if you do not counter propaganda and measures intended to limit or take away that right, you are NOT pro-choice.

9. That is exactly right... |
|
I've always felt that way. I'm pro choice, and it doesn't matter if I'm "pro life" per se.
But I agree with the person up thread who said we're all really pro life and no one is pro death... it doesn't keep you from being pro choice.

11. I personally promise the Religious Right that I will NEVER have an abortion. |
|
Most likely because I don't have the right plumbing for the job in the first place.
