Wall Street to Obama: Hands off!....spanone to wall street: fuck you

Misguided. Unworkable. Hypocritical.

Wall Street was unimpressed by President Obama's argument for financial reform on Thursday. The reaction of nearly a dozen financial industry workers ranged from skepticism to animosity.

"It doesn't seem necessary for him to come down here," said Frank Clemente, a stock broker. "It's all political, not any real reform."

Clemente was particularly annoyed that Obama criticized the financial industry after having accepted political contributions from Goldman Sachs (GS, Fortune 500) employees during his presidential campaign.

"He took their money before, so it's kind of hypocritical to attack them now," he said.

Obama spoke at Cooper Union in lower Manhattan, a short distance from the New York Stock Exchange. In his midday speech, the president said the economic downturn that has cost the nation 8 million jobs is a clear sign for the

need to reform the finance industry.

1. OK so they give him money. So it's hypocritical of them to attack him now.
See how that works?

2. Clearly, they are used to politicians doing what they tell them to when they give them donations.

6. on the giving money thing... this has always confused me
because I get two stories.

1. the money comes from the CEOs and the corporation itself hoping to influence policy

2. the individuals that are Employed by, say Goldman Sachs, they have to say on their contribution slip who they work for? Is this correct? So.... even tho Obama may have recieved a large amount of money from GS, is all of it 'corporate' money when individuals may have donated a large sum just because they may be democrats and have no corporate policy to push?

Also, corporation donations are limited to a certain ceiling, aren't they, as are individual ones.

Please someone straighten this out for me.

7. Oh, I'm sorry...did the cop finally show up at the bank vault?
Guess all the crooks just got use to stealing on a daily basis and forgot that someone COULD come by and give them a menacing gaze. See what happens when you let people steal 24/7? They forget there were once laws.
