US annual health care costs in chicken terms
This should put it all in perspective

Total U.S. health care costs in 2008: $2.3 trillion
US population: About 300 million
Average cost of health care per person: $7,681
Average weight of a chicken: 5.9 lbs
Market price per pound: 85 cents
Average spot price per chicken: $5.02
Average number of chickens per resident needed to cover health care costs: 1,530 chickens
Total number of chickens needed to cover United States health care costs: 459 billion chickens
Estimated worldwide chicken population: 16 billion chickens
Current worldwide chicken shortage to cover U.S. health care: 443 billion cluckers

1. People are too chicken to talk about what it should cost.
Every decent country:
$3,500 Canada
$3,000 Great Britain
Yeah...
$3,000 for just about every country
Covers everything for everybody.

Total cost for 300-million Americans SHOULD BE $3,000 per capita per year:
0.9 Trillion dollars.
597 chickens per person.
179 billion chickens
163 billion chickens short, because of
535 dumb clucks.

3. It's the 3000 number that's good. No one admits it.
How can it cost about 3000 dollars a year per person in so many countries covering everyone for everything, and here? TWICE AND MORE to cover less for fewer.
