German troops in Afghanistan call on Angela Merkel to explain why they're at war
German soldiers are wearing their hearts on their sleeves - in the form of a badge that protests their country's involvement in the war in Afghanistan.

Some troops have taken to wearing the cloth accessory that states - ironically - 'I fight for Merkel' in a bid to persuade the German Chancellor Angela Merkel to explain exactly what they are fighting and dying for.

Four more troops were killed, and five badly injured, in Afghanistan last week.

Seven soldiers have died there so far this month, bringing the total to 43 in all since they were first deployed eight years ago.

Unable to engage the Taliban directly on the ground, frustrated by their government’s inability to acknowledge they are even engaged in a war and angered by the lack of popular support for their mission, the badges are a low-key mutiny that has sent shock waves through the top brass of the Bundeswehr.

some are still trying to sell the fantasy that an operation as complex as 9-11 ('official version') was plotted and controlled from a cave in one of the most backward countries on the face of the planet.

<snip>
Afghanistan has become Mrs. Merkel’s biggest and most difficult foreign policy challenge since taking office five years ago. But it is only recently that she has begun to speak about the issue publicly.

With two out of three Germans opposed to the war, according to a recent poll in Stern magazine, and with casualties increasing — seven soldiers were killed in the past three weeks — Mrs. Merkel had been criticized not only by her own conservative Christian Democrats, but also by the highly influential mass circulation Bild newspaper for failing to explain to the public why German troops are based in Afghanistan.

Bild also criticized her for never attending a commemoration ceremony for dead soldiers. Only after Bild pointed that out a few weeks ago did Mrs. Merkel, for the first time, attend such a ceremony this month.

She even said she could understand why some politicians, notably, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, the defense minister, referred to the conflict in Afghanistan as a “war.”

Angela is making some extremist claims to justify this madness.
End the fucking wars.

7. Agree. I wish we would spend all our costs for war on research for alternative energy. If found and
it will be someday, the current war over oil would be of no economic value and oil companies and those who finance them would be neutered.

That's why I used a black field representing oil with a gold dollar sign on the following.
