For those going, but what Arizona did is ilegal and will be thrown out
by the Feds.... here is the thing. This speaks to the increasing climate of hate. This is a beast that is now on the loose and the wild. And to be honest, this could end very badly...

You may think I am exaggerating when I say this, but ethnic cleaning is an American tradition (see all those Indian wars), and so is the use of Cheap Labor... coming from oh the dark day of bringing WHITE slaves to the US_ in the form of Children destined for the Tobacco Plantations at Jamestown in the Colony of Virginia... and yes you are forgiven if you do not remember hearing of this in school... kind of a nice little chapter in American history most people don't know about.

We have a sordid hsitory, must of it hidden from view, but this little Arizona law is unfortunately consistent with American history... and part of a pattern. Oh and that cheap labor, well you got papers, don't you? And do not expect me to step on Arizonan Territory or spend one damn red cent there. If a company is based there, and it is selling on line. I will not buy from them. Nor will I travel through it's airports... a boycott is on, and I am sure it will hurt some in that state, but this is something that has to be spoken against, or the poison will spread. Oh and how do you tell an illegal? The same way you told a Jew.

And this is about frightening those who are not like us... oh an old American tradition...

And it can end in this....

Or this...

Or this

Oh and spare me the Nazi comparisons... there are reasons why they are valid, but so are the comparisons to our OWN history.

this ugliness IS our reality.

history is written by the winners of the wars. our dark victories are shameful.

6. Nah the problem is that we are very selective on what we
teach as history... to the little impressionable kids. And yes the story of Pohacontas is endearing, but what went around it is not... the first is nice and we "celebrate it" every November... the latter... well a few specialists discuss it in papers and books that only OTHER specialists read about.

Like that white slavery... damn most Americans do not know off it, never mind that one in four Americans were indentured servants or kids of them by Independence.

20. Au contraire
something has.

Hubby was in the Navy when 9.11 happened. Remember the trial balloon on internment of Arab Americans?

Shall we say there are many rumors of mutiny across the US Fleet.

Why it was withdrawn.

Now has the lesson expanded beyond some areas? Nope. (And the last photo is about that internment)

8. Yep, as exagerated as what happened after the Nuremberg Laws
Edited on Fri Apr-23-10 09:52 PM by nadinbrzezinski
in 1933... or for that matter the mess in Bosnia Herzegovina oh barely a decade ago.

Or for that matter the internment of Japanese Americans in the US... or the Indian Wars... nope, they were not about ethnic cleansing, no sirree... :sarcasm: but about "manifest destiny."

You are right... it is exaggerated and these demons never lead to these kinds of horrors. They only don't when people fight, actively mind you, against them. But they are now lose... and even this country has seen the horror of them... many times in her history.

12. I'm looking at it from the point that I think the repukes want that kind of power.
I just don't want people to talk like that because I feel it would hurt us. People would think that we are the crazy ones thinking this could happen.

15. It has happened... under the leadership of BOTH parties
The Indian wars were pursued by Presidents of BOTH parties, and last time I checked a history book FDR was a DEMOCRAT. He ordered the internment of Japanese Americans... you know why we did not see that after 9/11? Rumors of mutiny across the Armed Forces of the United States. They read history, and chiefly learned from it.

History does not care about party... albeit some historians may.

And to power... those who refuse to speak against this kind of horror are complicit in it.

18. As the old song goes, what side are yuo on?
Edited on Fri Apr-23-10 10:09 PM by nadinbrzezinski
Are you on the side of history? And this means calling this for what it is? Or trying to make this a political issue?

Personally this is more than just an insult to my sensibilities. It puts me in one of two moods. Take passport, and get on the next plane out... or fight. Yes MY FAMILY saw this movie already, in my dad's generation.

Suffice it to say... this is not politics any more, but ethnic warfare.

24. What do you mean "hurt us". It hurts ALL of America when
idiots do something like this. I cannot abide the type of action that Arizona took. We should all be ashamed of what they did. May it be overturned asap.

13. Or be like the millions of Americans who do not remember last week
let alone hundred, two hundred, three hundred or four hundred years ago.

That is also an American tradition.

7. Yes, this is one of those genuine scary indicators...
No,I won't be traveling to Arizona anytime soon. And I will join the boycott, and that is a boycott of stores with corporate headquarters in that state.

Anyone who chooses to do that should write a letter to the corporate headquarters explaining why you will no longer spend money in their Establishments.

17. Those who have said "Never Again" need to speak out and say
"It's happening again and it's happening in Arizona."

If the JDL did that, the veil would be lifted.
