If you're not 100% sure get tested
ifound out today I am still HIV negative. After a lifetime of risky behavior and my negligence in not finding out sooner may have cost me the love of my life because I didn't get tested before we started an intimate relationship. Be responsible. For your own welfare and anyone you care about.

3. I stopped doing the wild thang outside of marriage right before I was married in 1973
So I think I am safe?

Safe?

Watch a truck run over me tomorrow.

4. Unfortunately, no!
A lot of people believe that just because they either aren't having sex, or are faithful to their partner that they're 100% safe. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Many people who are infected with HIV get it as a result of their partner being unfaithful to them, not the other way around. There are also certain medical procedures that can result in becoming infected - one of the more obvious is a blood transfusion - but any operation that involves something being inserted into your body and / or opening a wound can cause HIV infection. Especially if the same instruments / tools are being used on other patients who themselves may have HIV. The primary cause of this is lack of proper sterilization of the instruments / tools being used. Colonoscopies are a good example.

In fact, not to long ago, there was a report that a http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/143427.php">VA Hospital wasn't properly cleaning the instruments used in the Colonoscopy procedure, and this resulted in multiple patients being infected with HIV and Hepatitis. Naturally, when this happens you could go home and have sex with your wife and then infect her (unknowingly and accidentally).

Thus, it is always recommended that you use a condom during sex.

I'm almost certain that -YOU- are fine, I am just posting this to get the information out there. People shouldn't take that they're 'safe' for granted. There are many ways to become infected.
