I received an email from Naomi Wolf on Thursday that informed me

that the American Freedom Campaign is joining the Bill of Rights Defense Committee. After seeing what happened in Arizona, this is probably a good idea. Until Democrats on the national level get serious about the loss of freedom in this country since 9/11 ushered in by the Bush administration, I think fighting on the local level is probably the best approach. They are the ones that spearheaded Constitutional protections on the local level against possible abuses of the Patriot Act. This may well have to be the approach we the people must take in an anti-freedom climate such as today. That would produce mechanisms that could fight back and possibly provide positive outcome cases in the legal system. I wasn't even aware of this organization though I did know of some local towns here in NC such as Chapel Hill creating their own ordinances that refused to accept the Patriot Act provisions for its citizens.

I used to see her on the tube all the time. But it's been ages now since I saw her beautiful self.

Maybe some have mistakenly thought her message isn't needed anymore. But I actually think the opposite as it seems to me people have accepted some concepts that run counter to a free society.

But it seems when it comes to TV, she has fallen off the face of the earth, since her book "The End Of America" came out. If nothing else, it seems like she would pop up on Olbermann or Maddow now and again. :shrug:
