If one doesnt' have immigration papers to show because they are a natural born citizen, but is "suspected of being" an illegal immigrant, what is going to happen? Will the police be able to hold someone in a jail cell until they finally straighten it out? Do they write a ticket demanding the suspected illegal immigrant appear in court to prove their citizenship? Do the police give them a ride home so they can get their birth certificate to prove citizenship?

1. They drag them in - you better have a birth certificate or passport... |
|
You can bet I'm not heading to Arizona. They can pull anyone over at any time for any dubious reason

and many people don't have a passport.
So you think, they'll put them in jail until it can be straightened.
Hell, I once didn't have my birth certificate and had to pay to get a new one.
How are they going to prove that people without the papers are natural born citizens. Are they going to use a government database or something?

3. Even though I have Dutch ancestors, I have a dark complexion and |

in the past have been mistaken to be Hispanic. My mother was 1/4 Cherokee Indian.
I don't plan to go to Arizona anytime soon, but if I did I'd hope my US Indiana CDL driver license would clearly show who I am.

Puerto Rican to be exact.
We were discussing this on another board and the wingnut posters were saying things like Hispanics should be happy to show proof that they belong here. LOL
I was even asked point blank by one of them if I was an "anchor baby." When some other posters slammed her for that she responded it was a legitimate question and didn't see what the problem was.
I pointed out that I didn't think it fair that if I was driving through AZ with some White friends that I be targeted but not them since I was born here just like them.
All this law is is State wide racial profiling and it can and will lead to abuses.
