More US Soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year than...
Edited on Sat Apr-24-10 01:26 PM by tekisui
More US Soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year than in the entire years of 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 (we will surpass 2007 shortly).

We have lost 104 in the first 4 months of 2010. Each month's death total has been at least double for that month in 2009. 2009 was the deadliest year, until this year. We are on track to lose over 600 servicemen and servicewomen in 2010.

The summer offensives will begin soon, and the major operation on Kandahar will spike these figures further.

These are not just numbers. These are lives lost, and families burdened. The deaths are dramatically increasing, with no end in sight.

Bring them home alive.

6. Obama's War
Why? Why did Obama feel the need to escalate this war? What is the point? Why have we spent more on Iraq and Afghanistan than we did for WWII?

What the fuck is wrong with this President? This Congress? This country?

Is it true that land of the free and home of the brave is not worth a warm bag of horse shit?

7. 40% of US deaths have cime under Obama's 16 months.
40% in 16 months. The other 60% were in the first 7 years, or 84 months.

It is, undeniably, Obama's War.

10. Look, an absolutely worthless cherrypick of data!
Color me shocked.

How about this: "Every month this year has been less deadly than every month last summer?"

Why not just post the facts? Here, from the website you link to:

11. I posted facts. Get over yourself.
Summers are always deadlier in Afghanistan. They fight seasonally. As is evidenced by the chart.

I didn't cherry pick shit.

It's notable to see a thread acknowledging US soldiers die at all, really. Not a commonly told story lately.

20. Thanks for putting it up there.
It only strengthens the argument that deaths are increasing. No need to apologize. If I have time to edit I will add it to my OP. The only reason I didn't is because I couldn't grab it as an image.

Let's hope those numbers don't mean anything for the remaining months.

33. The increase is due to Obama's surge.
More troops, more targets and more engaging. The remaining months of this year are going to be devastating. We could even approach the yearly numbers of Iraq's war dead, when it was at its worst.
