Neo-Nazi supporters behind controversial Arizona immigration law
Edited on Sat Apr-24-10 01:29 PM by Mari333
well, doh.

Blogging from PHOENIX–Documented members of Arizona’s Neo-Nazi movement, which is growing in political influence in the state are firmly behind the powerful Arizona legislator who championed the controversial legislation that as of the Governor’s signature today, will require citizens and visitors to carry identification papers.

'Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce, who crafted the bill, has been associated with local Neo-Nazi and John Birch types for several years; In 2006, he came under fire for speaking admirably of a 1950s federal deportation program called Operation Wetback, and for sending an e-mail message to supporters that included an attachment from a white supremacist group.'

1. I'm sure the British National Party will support it, too, but they will think Arizona didn't go far

2. Looks like Pearce might be one of Arpaio's lackeys...
Wiki: Pearce received a Medal of Valor during his 35 years as an officer of the Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff's Department where he rose to the position of Deputy Sheriff.

3. there is something wrong..
70% of the people of Arizona are not racist assholes, yet 70% of the people of Arizona support this bill. The point is that the Federal Gov't has failed miserably on immigration reform, and this is the blowback from that. Obama's leadership is needed now to bring about an amnesty but at the same time bring some sanity to the border crossing situation.

Of course one of the best things that could happen would be an end of the drug war, but i'm not holding my breath on this.

13. If Seventy Percent Of Arizonans Support This Bill, Sir
Then seventy percent of Arizonans are indeed, as you put it, racist assholes. Being such is necessary to support of this bill.

5. The "Nazis wear underwear" argument
I'm not about to throw away my underwear just because Nazis wear underwear too.

I'm not going to abandon any policy that just happens to be supported by neo-nazis.

9. Remember when we used to kid about the tea baggers and Jesus people should
be able to secede again and take the south back? Well maybe Arizona might be the place to send them all to. I feel really doubly bad about this because Arizona was where my dad and his family settled, when it still was a territory (yes, that long ago). It's a beautiful state that is culturally diverse and this should never have happened. That stupid woman who is Governor needs to join Sara Palin on the hate and guns circuit as the worst Governors in this decade.
