Gingrich: Tea Party will become ‘militant wing’ of GOP
Former President Bill Clinton got into trouble with conservatives after he compared today's political climate with the climate preceding the Oklahoma City bombing. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich seems to be having a moment of his own: in a little-noticed appearance Wednesday, he suggested that the Tea Party will become the "militant wing of the Republican Party."

But this time, conservatives aren't up in arms.

While speaking at an event in York County, Pennsylvania Wednesday, Gingrich left some in the audience scratching their heads. According to the The York Dispatch, Gingrich said the movement is a "natural expression of frustration with Republicans and anger at Democrats," which is "more likely to end up as the militant wing of the Republican Party" than a third party.

1. I love how they try to pretend the teabaggers aren't Republicans
By the time you add the Republicans teabaggers to the "independents" that always vote Republican you get something like 88%. The teabaggers are the militant wing of the Republican party.

2. I thought the Tea Baggers were all independents
Now Newtie is claiming them for the Republican Party? I hope they set him straight, and how they're not part of any political party and stuff.

3. A.K.A. "Brownshirts" or "GOP Insurgents" or "GOP Goon Squads"
This is the role the teabaggers are itching to officially assume, what with all the guns and wild-eyed hatred toward ... anything they're told to hate by their leaders - Beck, Palin, Limbaugh, et al.

6. Since newt the tooter is holding office
he can afford to be more critical of the tea bags. He knows they are akin to the KKK, he didn't go that far. But that is what they are. And they are going to really get more militiant and radical the closer to the elections they get. I am dreading the fact that they are going to start to kill Democrats and their families. Look at what they tried in Virginia with the gas line. Don't tell me they gave a damn about the person's family.
