An Irony of Reagan
I know there are many ironies that can be discussed concerning Ronald Reagan, but I discovered one today. I was looking at the book The Man Who Sold the World: Ronald Reagan and the Betrayal of Main Street America . In the book it was mentioned that there are schools, streets/freeways, and airports among other things named after Ronald Reagan. This seems ironic to me in that Ronald Reagan, when he was president, was opposed to spending money on schools, freeways, and other projects that would maintain public items.

1. It's all just a sadistic joke
The Owners of America are laughing at us, because they got everything they wanted with Reagan and the 4 Presidents who followed him.

2. Did Reagan ask for them to be named after him?
It cant really be an irony against him if he had no control over the naming of the various buildings.

4. Could Have Said No
He could have said he did not the building to be named after him. I do not think he objected to any buildings being named after him.

6. First time I had ever heard of that book!
Here it is excerpted at Google: http://books.google.com/books?id=4scTMtDImocC&printsec=frontcover&dq=%22Ronald+Reagan+and+the+Betrayal+of+Main+Street+America%22&source=bl&ots=_0Q7hmwOc3&sig=ub9MlR4TZ1PrwXwV9SFmY0bnoS8&hl=en&ei=l4nTS_HvF47atgPHtOHQCQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CCAQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q&f=false

To navigate through it, click on "CONTENTS" at the top of the page. I'll go through it later, but thanks for the alert. I see that Amazon lists it for a reasonable price.
