Mitch McChinless avoids CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM bill sponsor
Edited on Mon Apr-26-10 10:28 AM by sfpcjock
Senate Democrats have been unable to find a GOP co-sponsor of highly anticipated CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM legislation, delaying the rollout of a measure aimed at counteracting a landmark Supreme Court ruling.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) had expected to unveil their legislation with bipartisan support by the end of last week, with a goal of delivering a bill to President Barack Obama’s desk by July 4 so that it would have an immediate impact in this year’s elections. That timeframe is in doubt, and the lack of GOP support could prevent passage of legislation through either chamber by Memorial Day.

Democrats now hope to unveil legislation this week, and the party is in an internal debate over whether to move forward without a Republican co-sponsor.

5. Seems to me like there is WAY TOO MUCH important work left to be done
to have congress fritter away the summer on vacation this year. I think the President should order them ALL to stay till some of these bills are passed, even if it takes till the election.

I intend to email the White House today and suggest just that.

8. NO MORE BANKS OVER $100 Billion IN SIZE!!
Edited on Tue Apr-27-10 09:14 AM by sfpcjock
Ali Velshi on Bill Press' Show this morning and Simon Johnson of the "13 Bankers" book and http://www.BaseLineScenario.com are both right: NO MORE BANKS OVER $100 Billion IN SIZE like the $2 Trillion Goldman Sachs! Then we do not need the special bailout fund that Republicans are opposed to.

If you have one or more giant sharks the size of the Great Barrier Reef they can eat the whole thing in one bite. After that what do they have left to eat? Yes we can, allow it NO MORE!
