Who does a Czar answer to?
Why do they need a war Czar if Bush* is the "War pResident"? I always thought a Czar was the top man...sort of like Emperor. How in the hell did the USA ever start having Czars anyway?

5. Some focus group decided "Czar" sounded way cooler than "Secretary"
So the Republicans and the media went with that. One day the Republicans will appoint new cabinet members with titles like "The Totally Way Hip Dog Master of Kicking Bad Guys' Asses." They'll still fuck everything up, it will just take much longer to write about them.

7. How about a corruption czar?
It's time the Bush White House appointed a central director to organize the diversion of vast amounts of public & private cash into its cronies' pockets. It's just too big a job even for a Vice-President who's done such a good job for his Halliburton pals. And with only 20 months to go, the effort needs to be stepped up. But who might it be? Maybe Wolfowitz will be on the market for a new job soon.
