that is what she was trying for.

Yours is very formal, and in some areas of LatAm is the expected usage... hell in Tijuana is the usage.

6. Well, I assimed the "usted" form would be used in such an interaction.
hence "Sus" instead of "Tus".

12. What language are you attempting to write?
It's completely unclear.

At the very least, use Babelfish to do an approximate translation. It's offensive to anyone who speaks a language to see it completely butchered, even if you mean well. Truly.

we had the rainiest winter/spring i can remember, and our local media has not even said the word drought in months :)
