Tweety makes me want to puke!
Just got through watching today's Hardball, and am frankly outraged at Tweety's faking his way through his show. Specifically, he had two Arizons senators on (one retired, the other the 'author' of the outrageous Immigration "Show me your papers" bill), and attempted to "question" them on the bill. What was painfully obvious from the beginning was that Tweety hadn't bothered to read the bill or even now, almost two days later, bothered to have one of his staff brief him on the salient points (unlike Olbermann and Maddow). Because of this, he let the Rethug bill author claim that the bill would not permit police to stop a car full of people and demand documents based on his reasonable suspicion that they were illegal (Matthew's own hypothetical), and when the Rethug responded "No", Matthews didn't/couldn't challenge him on it. He was just faking it, and since he didn't know if it were true or false, simply let it go. Then, he ended the segment congratulating himself on the fact that "each side got equal time" as if this were somehow the whole point.

Tweety is emblematic of the problem with mainstream news today. Matthews has an important microphone and the fact that he's too complacent and/or lazy to do the most minimal homework means that his hour is basically wasted, and this at a time when were are so lacking in having liberal voices on national TV. End of rant...:grr:

1. I agree that Tweety is often shallow.
Rachel and Keith are the new breed -- they obviously are working the Internet fast and furious.

Tweety is what he is. Sometimes useful, sometimes not.

3. At times he appears to be
woefully uninformed/misinformed on certain issues.

In the 1990s he was ridiculous in his pursuit of Bill Clinton. His show should have been named the 'Get Clinton Show'.
