If you want people to not think you're crazy, it helps to not act as if you are crazy.

Not saying everyone with a gun is nuts. But a lot of nuts seem to have guns and it's getting harder to tell which is which.

Seeing as how a guns lethality does not change in response to the mental stability of the user and crazy people can be so very good at hiding it, it occurs to me that I probably won't be able to distinguish a true psychopath until after they start shooting.

5. The chances of a gun owner with a clean record going AWOL is extremely low.

May be strange to say it here, but in several ways I feel a bit safer around the confederate flag toating, gun bearing rednecks and "good ol' country boys" that live around my house rather than a gun toating gang banger that regularly commits crimes and will kill someone without remorse. In all of my life living in the same rural area, I have never heard of anyone being murdered by a gun. Hell theres a lot of hunting that goes on here too. But 15 miles away from me back in town, their are many gun related deaths every year due to gang activity. My brother lives in the city and he's actually heard a few shootouts in the middle of night.

I tried to make a point that someone who commit crimes on a regular basis, or psychologically ill, is far more likely to shoot up places than a gun owner who makes an honest living, and has a good clean record. Obviously I failed.
