Comedy Central is starting to look extremely cowardly |
|
Normally after a new episode of south park airs, it repeats several times during the week.
Exception: episode 201.
I have my dvr set to record every episode of south park and not once this week have they repeated it. even though the guide will say it's episode 201, it will be some earlier repeat. this has happened several times.
routinely, episodes of south park show up after airing at www.southparkstudios.com
EXCEPT episode 201, where there is a message from matt and trey when you click on the icon for that episode.
it also shows up on on-demand on the monday morning (12 midnight sun night) after airing.
EXCEPT this episode.
it's really pretty sad that these extremist pieces of garbage can cow an entire comedy network into submission , episode 200 showed buddha SNORTING COKE. buddhists yawned. episode 200 and countless others skewered jesus, jews, scientologists, mormons, atheists, etc.
and never did CC feel the need to batten down the hatches and run silent and deep.
it's a sad state of affairs.

Apparently we're driving them to terrorism by making fun of their beliefs.
I wonder if South Park is banned in the UK? They have those hate speech laws you know..
Edited for speling.

4. it's the heckler's veto |
|
and god knows i use that term a lot in this discussion, but it's just so apt
the idea that we shouldn't satirize those who threaten and commit violence when they are satirized
which leads to the conclusion that it's only ok to satirize/mock those groups that don't respond violently to it
and thus we have the perverse incentive we give ANY group to respond to satire with violence - threaten us and we won't make fun of you, don't threaten us and we;ll mock you
blaming us for provoking terrorism is like blaming the rape victim for her rape because she dared wear makeup and attractive clothes
darnit, those rapists, you can't provoke them with such displays, you need to wear a full veil and... wait a second...

Comedy Central doesn't look cowardly compared to the networks or other cable channels, or the Democratic Party.

OF course, this isn't Matt or Trey's decision.
