Does anyone ever notice that RW nutjobs just plain post a lot to everything? |
|
The KC Star is just full of letters from the teabaggers (or whatever the hell they are called). I get so tired to reading just one letter after another against Obama, against taxes, against the government - against absolutely everything. And those letters are often so sarcastic condescending in tone.
I just skip all of them anymore. I'm just too tired of sarcasm and those godawful rude popular phrases like:
How's that working for you?
Wake up people! Wake up America! - I especially hate that one.
Everyone is stupid but them. It has gotten so old.

4. That might actually be the case. |
|
Maybe they just have an army of "Letter Writers" out there who respond to everything using fake identities. Just a big boiler room of people who sole job is to write letters.

They actually do? Wild.
There is a book by Bentley Little called Dispatch that is about that very thing. He writes really wierd books-actually classified in the horror genre but his are more horror of the mind kind of thing. He takes a idea like this and then just pushes it to the edge. He did one called the Association which was about a Homes Association that ran seriously amuck. Too funny.
In Dispatch there are a whole bunch of Letter Writers that exist in kind of an alternate existence and they write letters all day long - about everything. And they completely control the political and financial agenda of the US without anyone knowing any better.

5. I hear those same people talking over breakfast all the time. |
|
I eat breakfast out and groups of the super Evangelicals all come in to have breakfast. They use the word "liberal" like liberals are all the most stupid, degenerate people on the face of the planet.

6. You haven't been reading them lately? |
|
The Star has a new person in charge of the LTTEs page. There's been a change in the amount of letters from wingnuts.
Midwest Voices is better too. They are screening and removing bad comments.
But Prime Buzz still sucks. Way too many far right nuts post there.

7. I read it everyday. I think its gotten worse. |
|
I think they really try to bend over backward to have both viewpoints out there. But I wish they would chose letters that aren't so completely slanted in one way or the other.

10. And I see a definite move to the left |
|
They seem to be publishing letters from the extreme right fringe and that's fine, AFAIC. But there are also lots more letters from the left.
