they just keep doing damage all over the place. The Tea Party, Death panels, Nazi tactics like the current bill in Arizona, armed protests, rally signs of Barack Obama in white face as the Joker, internet calls to arms by way of Sarah Palin's "Lock and Load" bullshit. These people are dangerous and pose a real and current threat to democracy and they are emboldened by FUX NEWS daily.

These people are not going away easily. They challenge the very essence of what this country was founded on, but claim to be the very arbiters of the Constitution.

WE MUST GET OUT THE VOTE IN 2010. Don't be complacent. Please join up with your local dem groups. Spend your weekends signing up new voters. Offer rides, do whatever it takes to get the vote out.

We're in a real tug of war for the future of this country.

1. Especially in the primaries
The primaries is where you can really move things to the left.

3. Off to the Greatest page with you, now!
Numero Cinco here.

I agree that we need to get out the vote and do it heavily.

I will work toward unseating every moderate to conservative Dem anywhere I can, but only at the primary level. When it comes time that the vote sticks, it is "ANY Dem is better than ANY repub ANYwhere."

4. They're killing themselves, though.
Edited on Tue Apr-27-10 01:16 PM by smoogatz
Rather, the right wing of the party is killing them. This shit in Arizona is going to ensure big Democratic majorities among Latinos in that state for a generation, and in the rest of the SW, too. Demographically over the next 10-to-forever years, that's going to spell the end of Republican control in the SW--even Texas will be in play by 2030. We know it, they know it, there's no way around it because they're locked in by the far right wing of the party. So all they've got at this point is fear, fear, fear and a certain amount of bigotry. Short term it may work, but less and less nationally and over time. The scary part, of course, is that when the right in this country doesn't get their way they have no qualms about resorting to violence and otherwise staging coups d'etat--see JFK and GWB.

7. It's a heavily financed right wing bought and paid for movement ....
propelled, as far as I can see, by right wing PR/propaganda/Fox --

If it was an armed "black" uprising -- it would already be over!!

6. The Constitution was schizophrenic ... "Equality for all" ... but not women, natives, Africans ...
It was a Constitution for white males --

white males, with property!

Much of it given to them by government!

8. As long as the RW has cornered the Macho market, they will still have power
We have to address the femiphobic perversion of masculinity that runs rampant in our society.
In the short term, to undermine the GOP's power, emasculate, emasculate, emasculate!
