to find out what kind of document I'd need if I got stopped in AZ should I be on vacation there. She asked why was I worried about being stopped. I replied that they have a new law for stopping illegal aliens and she said, and I quote, "Do you look like an illegal alien?"

I said I was sort of dark skinned and was worried. I asked if my drivers license would be enough to protect me and she said she wasn't a lawyer and didn't know what would be required but she guessed that my drivers license would be enough.

On the toll free, I have had a busy signal every time I tried, and I got through on the toll call. All I got there was an answering machine on which I left a message which said, "My wife and I were planning a trip down there to see friends in late July. We thought maybe we'd see the Grand Canyon and some sights while we were down there. But since she's of Hispanic descent and I may be illegal as well, we are cancelling our trip." And I left my phone number.
I lied, my wife is not Hispanic. She's Asian. But who cares? Let's raise hell with these neanderthals that run the government down there.
