Update on the Spanish Inquisition of "The Bush Six"
Today, the Center for Constitutional Rights filed a joint expert opinion with the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights in Spain's investigation of "The Bush Six".

Common Dreams has an excerpt of the opinion:

"the U.S. has utterly failed in its obligations to initiate an effective investigation or prosecution against the specific defendants in this case or on behalf of the named plaintiffs or other victims of the U.S. interrogation, detention and torture policies. This unfortunately remains the case under the Obama Administration. Furthermore, both the Obama and Bush Administrations have actively sought to block all efforts on behalf of victims of the detention, interrogation and torture policies from having their day in court, when in the context of habeas proceedings or civil actions. Spain, therefore, can and indeed, must, exercise its jurisdiction over the named defendants for the violations alleged in this case."

5. I've come to realize our leaders are above the law.
If the government wants you to be picked up without your knowing why, then that's what will happen. Hell, if they can out a US spy during wartime with impunity, what hope do you or I have that we'd fare any better?

4. i guess that means they had better not travel to Spain.
Perhaps they could get all of Europe to extradite them for trial.

6. It's still just an investigation, but once indictments are issued...
then yeah, I think any European county would extradite them.

7. I wonder if I will live to see their justice
I know I would spend every minute watching the trial.
