Fabrice Tourre: Too Young To be Vice President?
I am not trying to take any blame away from Fabrice Tourre for any part in the financial meltdown; however, I do slightly wonder if he should have not had his job. From what I have heard Tourre was 27 and was the Vice President of a part of the Goldman Sachs company. Should anyone who is 27 be the Vice President of any company even if that person is only the Vice President of a certain part of a company?

1. After working for a competitor, the title Vice President really does not mean
a whole lot. I was an Assistant VP, and I was just a worker bee. A VP is several levels down from the top. It does not have the same equivalence as in many other types of industries.

8. VP is towards the bottom of management titles
below SVP, EVP, group President, Vice Chairman, and CEO. Plus throw in Managing Director someplace. And it is not uncommon to have VPs reporting to VPs, SVPs reporting to SVPs, etc in the financial industry. He could easily be 8 to 10 notches down from Blankfein.

2. Maybe he inherited Daddy's seat on Wall Street?
I'll do a little googling. He's quite the smug asshole.

9. That wasnt his point....
He was basing his opinion on Fabrice being a VP solely based on age.

"Should anyone who is 27 be the Vice President of any company even if that person is only the Vice President of a certain part of a company?" I would say yes, if (s)he were qualified.
