This one made my blood boil. As you might expect:

AUSTIN, Texas – Pistol-packing Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a message for wily coyotes out there: Don't mess with my dog.

Perry told The Associated Press on Tuesday he needed just one shot from the laser-sighted pistol he sometimes carries while jogging to take down a coyote that menaced his puppy during a February run near Austin.

Perry said he will carry his .380 Ruger — loaded with hollow-point bullets — when jogging on trails because he is afraid of snakes. He'd also seen coyotes in the undeveloped area.

2. Coyotes are a big problem.....
....in Texas near populated areas because they will kill pets for food. We lose several dogs and cats each year to coyotes who venture into town to pick up an easy meal. Usually cats because they are not prone to staying behind the protection of a fence.
I lost two kittens a couple of years ago to coyotes, and a neighbor lost a small dog. They're pretty stealthy, too. I never see them around my house, but I see them all the time driving to town.

6. Why in the world would you leave kittens out in an area where you know there are coyotes?
Thats kind of like purposely feeding the coyotes with kittens isn't it?

7. These were feral kitties....
...and their mom had them in my shed. They were wild and wouldn't let me come near them. When I noticed the two gone, I was able to catch the remaining one and bring her in the house, where she has been for the last three years! She has turned out to be quite the house cat, very docile to me and my wife, but gets spooked when strangers come over. I live at a gated lake community out in the countryside, and during drought years, the coyotes come in to drink. I guess they see the cats and dogs as easy meals. Usually the coyotes are too skiddish to come around humans, but thirst drives them to bolster their courage.
I believe the coyotes also got their mom, who disappeared about the time they were weaned. I've never seen a coyote around my house, but living in the countryside, they are a fact of life.

3. Juanita Jean sez
“Oh, dear Lord,” Juanita begins rolling her eyes skyward. “Texas Governor Rick Perry shot a coyote.”

“While jogging, he claims to have killed that sucker dead with a .380 Rugar loaded with hollow points bullets. But, that’s not even the creepy news. The creepy news is that he carries the Rugar because ‘he is afraid of snakes.’ Whoa! Why should he fear his own species?”

“To make matters worse,” she grins, “I am a little old lady. I admit that I arm myself against snakes when I’m out walking. With a damn stick. It’s a dead stick. And it’s not even loaded. And I’m a girl.”

“And to make matters even worse than worse, his hollow bullet Rugar is laser sighted. What’s he do? Shoot at PowerPoint presentations he doesn’t like?”

4. Hollow-point, in case the snakes are wearing body armor.

5. hollow-point bullets to kill the snakes he is afraid of?
Edited on Wed Apr-28-10 06:13 AM by NNN0LHI
Why doesn't he just walk away from the snake? Its not like they are going to chase him down or something if he just left them alone.

These are some sick fucks for sure.

I hope he shoots a snake some day and the bullet ricochets off a rock and hits him right square in the ass.
