I apologize to the Democrats in Congress
In response to this story, http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070504/ap_on_go_co/us_iraq

I feel I have jumped the gun and criticized the Dems for not having a spine and backing down on the Iraq funding, essentially giving Bush what he wants. I was wrong to do that, and I want to apologize for my comments.

I guess the last six plus years of lies, abuses, and anger at the Bush Administration have put me in a place where I don't have a lot of patience left.

At any rate, I'm glad to hear that the Dems are not backing down, and I wish them luck as they bravely move forward to convince * he's been wrong about the war. The fact that he seems to be moving at all is proof that the Dems are more powerful than I thought.

Go forth and do well, Dems!

1. Most Of Us Got Taken In By The Stories That Was Planted in the WaPoo and other MSM Outlets
Edited on Fri May-04-07 01:54 PM by AndyTiedye
that claimed that the Democrats were caving in already.

Perhaps that bit of propaganda backfired on BushCheneyRoveCo a bit.
I understand that our representatives in DC have gotten a few phone calls.

9. That should really be a lesson to us
The Post has about as much credibility as Fox "news," yet a lot of people have a hard time letting go of the "old Washington Post" from Katherine Graham and Watergate days.

It's NOT that paper anymore- not by a longshot.

13. Heard on ABC News last week
Paraphrasing...

"This stand-off will prove to be meaningless. President Bush will veto the bill, and the Congress will have to give him the money he wants."

How the "journalist" got from veto to Congress doing what Bush wanted wasn't explained.

4. I can no longer believe anything I read in the MSM media at face value.
They have a subtle and consistent bias to frame events in ways that help Republicans and hurt Democrats. Every day I thank Al Gore for inventing the internets because I sincerely doubt we'd have anything close to a democracy today without it.

5. Question is...
... where did the "cave-in" story originate? Somebody seems to have deliberately misrepresented the Congressional leadership's position, and that's unacceptable.

11. After all the years of seeing opinions manipulated by the corporate media,
the one sided reporting of stories, and the tendency to distort the truth to make it whatever it's supposed to be according to the White House, I should have known better.

But a person can only take so much, and I'm truly ready to see the Dems kick some serious GOP butt, without worrying about what the media is going to say.

Deep inside, I know they are going through the process, which they have to do. I know this process takes time. And I believe that at some point, there will be so much dirt exposed that the American people and the corporated media will not be able to ignore it. That is when impeachment will be demanded.

I guess I just have to trust that the Dem leaders know what they're doing, and that they truly do remember why they were swept into control in November.

What's a few more months, we've already endured it that long.

To be fair to your previous position...they might have caved if we hadn't been ringing their phones off the hook this week.

15. They have their strategy.......and their work cut out for them
Let's hope that it does the job required.

I was speaking to Barbara Lee a couple of weeks ago after church and I mentioned to her that things were going pretty slowly in reference to getting this war to end. She agreed and said "yes, slowly but surely"....to which I replied, "well, it will be worth the wait".

Point is that our congresspeople know what they are up against, and it appears that they have and are making provisions to arrive at some real results. Bottomline is to get at those result, they must plot every single move to get it done. Our majority is not a large one, and imagination and battle techniques will have to be used. I believe that most understand the media and how much influence the media has on public opinion. Democrats not only want to end the war, but they must work to keep their majority come 2008. Both are ultra important and dire to this country.
