4. She's a paid shill for the repukes. A useful tool to lull
people into believing that her organization is multi-cutural.

I don't know how people like herself, Larry Elder, Armstrong Williams, Michael Steele, Ken Blackwell, Clarence Thomas and others sleep at night!

points. My thought was that her parents must be very disappointed in her.

look at the history and makeup of the organization she heads...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_Women%27s_Forum

Founded by Rosalie (Ricky) Gaull Silberman,<23><24> Anita K. Blair, and Barbara Olson<25> in 1992, the IWF grew out of the ad hoc group, "Women for Judge Thomas," that was created to defend Clarence Thomas against allegations of sexual harassment and other improprieties. By 1996 the organization had some 700 dues-paying members who met regularly at luncheons to network and share ideas.<26>

Since Silberman, presidents of IWF have included Nancy M. Pfotenhauer and Anita Blair. The current president and CEO of the organization is Michelle D. Bernard.<27>

The IWF has been described as "a virtual 'Who's Who' of Washington's Republican establishment."<26> People for the American Way, which is critical of the organization, describes IWF as "a secular counterpart to Religious Right women’s groups like Eagle Forum and Concerned Women for America." As a secular organization, IWF takes no official position on abortion or same-sex marriage.<28> In October 2003, the IWF announced an affiliation with Citizens for a Sound Economy, now Americans For Prosperity, with whom it shares its premises.

Bernard graduated from Howard University with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy. She has a J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center, and was a partner at the lobbyist and law firm Patton Boggs. In 2000, she was a member of the Bush-Cheney Presidential Inaugural Committee. She was the chair for the District of Columbia's Redevelopment Land Agency.

Bernard is a political and legal analyst for MSNBC, and is frequently a panelist on the The McLaughlin Group. In 2007, Bernard authored Women’s Progress: How Women Are Wealthier, Healthier, and More Independent Than Ever Before. She is also a Sunday columnist for The Washington Examiner.

Her family heritage is Jamaican American. Speaking of her family upbringing, in an interview with Bill Steigerwald, "My parents are American citizens, but they come from Jamaica. I was raised with very American and Jamaican values. In our culture, we have a very strong sense of pride and of family honor and of self-reliance."<1>

She is the mother of two children and is married to, though now separated from, CNN correspondent Joe Johns. <2>
