As of today, the airlines can be fined $27,500 per passenger |
|
if the plane is held on the tarmac for more than 3 hours. This makes me wonder where the money goes. To the FAA, the airport itself? It certainly will not go to the passengers who have been very inconvenienced.
I do not suggest that a defective plane fly but what happens to those who miss connecting flights, perhaps are scheduled to take a tour or trip that depends on their timely arrival. No compensation for them.
I just heard this information and also that, in order to avoid this possible penalty, the airlines may just cancel the flight if they choose.
Sometimes I wonder.............

3. I firmly believe that it should go to the passengers, since the fine is per passenger. |
|
would make sitting on the tarmac bearable at least!
