This year's energy toll and its impact on November
We lost 26 non-union workers in West Virginia, where the owner of Massey flaunted rules and safety requirements repeatedly.

We lost two more workers in Kentucky today.

We watch as a huge and growing oil slick makes its way into Louisiana's most fertile coastline, ready to kill off fishing, tourism, and endangered species. In the process, 11 men lost their lives.

At what point do we stand up and say, "ENOUGH?" Or is the problem that Big Energy has purchased as many democratic office holders as GOPers, making any progress on energy safety, renewable sources, and conservation impossible?

Let's not forget the coal ash issues that continue to plague us, or the nuke fuel storage issues.

I suspect that an energized people will vote for more safety, not for more profits. But for that to happen, democrats have to lead. For a change.
