Just recieved a fake "Census" phone call from a So. Carolina number - |
|
(Sic) "Hello - the United States Census process is now underway. The current forms went out without a indentification of citizens with diabetes." (As opposed to blind, paraplegic, or otherwise disabled in such a matter to regularly require government infrastructure services?) "As it is important for National Health to survey the number of persons with diabetes in this country..." (I hung up by then) It started sounding as if it was to be some sort of pharmecutical or "health survices provider" scam. And they called my work cell-phone - which is identified as and billed to my company's contract with Sprint - my name is not officially on that number. Not to my home phone. Has anyone else recieved a call like this? And should I report this?

"Hi, we're from the census, and--our bad!--we just noticed we left something out."
Although on closer examination they never did say that they were from the census, and it's true that the forms went out without a box to check if you have diabetes. :eyes:
I think you should report it. You just know that teabaggers everywhere are going to believe that the government is trying to keep records of their health conditions.

conditions. Sheesh. I guess they think people are really dumb.
Edited to elaborate: The Census doesn't ask people to indicate whether they are blind, paraplegic, or otherwise disabled. It asks only for their sex, age, birthdate, whether they're of Hispanic origin (and if so, what kind), and what race they consider themselves to be. No medical questions at all.
