3. they will if the price of gas
goes way up. I heard that BP has to pay for the clean-up. I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to pass the cost on to us consumers.

6. Would it take the spill to convince folks that driving is hazardous to the planet?
I've known that, for, well, all of my adult life.

I still drive occasionally but I do try to avoid it when I don't have to.

Of course the Exxon Valdez thing happened when I was in college followed by Gulf War I so maybe that skewed my beliefs. (In addition to never being able to afford a decent car)

9. Price of gas here is already over $3.00 per- I drive less now than previously but
it's at the point I couldn't drive less.
