Are the new republicans killing off the party by going to nutball land?
When John McCain and Charlie Crist are too liberal for the party then you are in real nutball land.

When your political purity test is that despite the worst economic conditions since the great depression
and the private sector in free fall and not creating any jobs you drum out a republican governor for
accepting stimulus money (Crist) you are in nutball land.

When you have a man w/ a 100% rating from a conservative group (McCain) being pushed by an
intellectual lightweight (J.D. Hayworth) w/ ties to Jack Abramoff by spinning the yarn that McCain
is not conservative enough you are in nutball land.

When you have a group of acolytes who cheer a grifter who quit as governor (Palin) to go around the country
on a fake bus tour to promote a book that she pretended to write you are in nutball land.

When you have an astroturf group (Teabaggers) running around talking about the loss of freedoms,
the unconstitutional actions of a President who was legally elected under the U.S. Constitution, and
screaming about the debt even though the debt was replaced by a surplus under the previous democratic
President (Clinton) you are in nutball land.

Yesterday morning as I was leaving a camping site I heard this teabagging nutball talking about
how his freedoms were being taken away by Crist's acceptance of stimulus money on N.P.R. and
thought these people are setting themselves up for a real ass kicking.

BTW the Trilliums were out in Athens, OH

2. my only worries are the media and the voting machines
because these people are truly "the fringe" and a minority of Americans.

BTW they have chased out just about every decent republican years ago ....
it used to be the Eve Dirkson, Berry Goldwater, Margaret Chase Smith, and
the main street merchant or doctor was the old "rocked ribbed republican"
and they had some control over the party and they are now gone.

Welcome to the party of Rush and the teabaggers. Abe Lincoln's party
is long gone.

8. Sigh.
I remember the good old days when Barry Goldwater was considered to the a right wing lunatic with delusion of Sainthood with the John Birch society.

Now he is considered a moderate to socialist. We are watching a number of our fellow citizen become fascists and it ain't pretty.

4. When Repukes eyes roll and they start foaming at the mouth, it is
seen as attractive to their other Repuke ilk. Don't ask me why, the entire breed seems to be begging for a Darwin Award. Fine by me.
