1. Whoa...is that a black lizard? Where does one go to get a few of those?
A lot of money could be made off selling this "exotic" wildlife. Calling Goldman Sachs...

21. Hey, Girl!
I've been thinking about you today. I remember so vividly the oil and filth left behind after Katrina and I'm worried this will be so much worse. My heart goes out to you, my friend. And to all the Gulf Coast.

Genesis 1:28 (New King James Version)

(28) Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

So, how is that drilly spilly dominiony thing going?

12. I hate like hell to insert politics into discussions of this epic disaster, but ..
The ultra-conservative Alabama 1st Congressional District (Mobile, Gulf Shores) and Florida panhandle (Joe Scarborough Country) - AKA the Redneck Riviera - are in the cross-hairs of the wind-blown movement of this oil slick. Soon, the sugar sands and gin-clear waters of yuppie Sea Side and Karl Rove's Rosemary Beach will be totally fucked by the sludge from this disaster.

I've been going to those beaches since I was born (in Mobile) in 1948. The Gulf of Mexico is in my blood. The hurricanes hurt, but they are nature. This is man's pure, unbridled greed. I am truly sick at heart. But I am not at all surprised.

26. I live on the Mississippi coast. We're gonna suffer economically and environmentally.
The casinos here are heavily dependent upon tourism, and nobody is going to come to Mississippi's shores if the beaches are blackened by oil and all the animals are dead, and the fishing industry, just now recovering from Katrina, will undoubtedly be driven under once again. We already suffered a heavy blow when the recession ate into the tourism industry, and it ate up a lot of money that was helping to rebuild the coast after the storm. A lot of casino jobs were lost when the economy crashed.

The blows just won't stop. I'm so tired of disaster after disaster after disaster.

Oil Spill Silences Once-Raucous 'Drill, Baby, Drill' Camp

By MIKE SORAGHAN of Greenwire
Published: April 30, 2010

"Drill, baby, drill" is now, "Hush, baby, hush."

The Republican battle cry that crystallized the growing popularity of offshore drilling has dropped from view since the Deepwater Horizon rig sank last week and the well it drilled started shooting crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

As Democratic opponents of the oil industry stepped up their attacks and demands for a sharp turn away from drilling, Republican leaders in Congress have slipped out of rapid-response mode and are generally holding their tongues.

14. announced on our Fla news tonight..oil will hit Fla panhandle by Monday latest Tuesday..
Edited on Fri Apr-30-10 08:23 PM by flyarm
Nelson was on our news tonight and all reports are it will hit panhandle by Monday ..latest Tuesday as the winds will change and be going east over the weekend..

and reported on Tampa News tonight there is a possibility the oil will make it down to Clearwater Fla..

Or it used to be "CLEARWATER"....This is the time of year the turtles come in and lay their eggs on Clearwater Beaches..

This just makes me sick to my stomach..

Where are all those DU Dem's that told us Gulf coasters to STFU about Obama opening up millions of miles of coastlines to drilling?? or unec'ed our posts warning of the dangers of these rigs and drilling..I have dead birds for them on our beaches...( that have been showing up all week!).they are welcome to collect them for their trophy's of their blind obedience!

I have tears of anger ........and heart break.......

20. Yes, where are those DUers?
And people say DU isn't being infiltrated by paid shills. No DUer with a whit of sense would have supported drilling. Anyone who's ever seen one photo of the damage done in Valdez could ever actually believe drilling for oil in the ocean is a good thing. Morons!

27. It's short term memory...
I can't figure out WHY it takes a disaster to change people's thinking. When we are warned, it gets written off as paranoid science geeks. Now it's here and being called the worst in history. WTF?

15. We need to bring back PUBLIC DUNKINGS for BP execs, Bush, Cheney, etc...
Remember the good old days? Conservatives keep wanting to go back to the good old days before women could vote, before blacks could vote, when children worked 16 hours a day. Well, let's go back even further and bring back public dunking, but this time we could dunk thugs like the head of BP in a vat of thick, black crude. Just keep dunking them over and over again and each time they come up for air show them a picture of one of the workers they killed or a dead bird covered in their oil?

And while were at it, why not have public dunkings for criminals like Bush & Cheney too. Their deregulation which prevented acoustic switches from being installed caused this oil spill. Let's dunk their corrupt asses too.

If conservatives really want to go back, let's do it and we can pick just the parts we want to go back to.
