Had a friend who was out with her brother, taking pictures, when outta the sky.... low and slow, a plane came near, and out fell some bales. There is (or used to be, been a while since I was there) balloon tethered in Sierra Vista, and it does radar scans, supposedly for busting smugglers. Only the beam gets turned off (so they say) for a few degrees, in the direction of Kitt Peak Observatory. Guess which way the small planes come in.

36. Let's assume that it happened, (and yes somebody went to the hospital)

and that somebody was VERY LUCKY.

1.- AK -47 rounds are NOT stopped by a police vest... it simply does not have enough layers in the Kevlar to do that... that is why those vests should be more properly called BULLET RESISTANT, not BULLET PROOF.

2.- In any shooting I have been at A LOT OF LEAD tends to fly and not hit anything. Thirty rounds, that's a magazine or two...

3.- Yes, some of the coyotes are carrying AK-s these days, as well as the drug dealers.

4.- As usual one has to ask, when readying a story in the paper, cui bono.

By the way, this comes from pretty first hand experience in more than one shoot out. Hell, I even crawled into the middle of one to drag an Officer down (No he was not grazed, but pretty fucked up) and was able to avoid getting hit. Never mind the were mosquitoes flying pretty damn close.

Oh and of course, to the boys and girls manning echelon, since I went into things that might trigger it... FUCK HOOVER!!!!
