What's going to happen when we can't find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We're going to take yours, and soon realize that the pay is shit compared to what we make, so we'll devise some other shady means of accumulating all the wealth. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later, and by "work" we mean drinking cases of '82 Lafite and magnums of '79 Cristal in posh lounges and 5 star restaurants. We're used to not getting up to pee when we have a position, but our offices have gilded toilets with recliners and computer stations, so what's the need? We don't take an hour or more for a lunch break, we just take weeks off to vacation in the Cayman Islands where we stash all of our money that we don't pay taxes on, and even if we didn't, we have catered lunches everyday so we don't need to leave our office. We don't demand a union because we pay lobbyists to destroy yours so we stay at the top and you stay at the bottom. We don't retire at 50 with a pension, because we've had a few million in the bank since we were 35 and could live off our offshore bank accounts for three generations over. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we'll eat that and then complain that we're not as sated as we are after a few orders of Beluga, some fresh Maine lobsters, and a porterhouse for 2. This took a lot out of me and it's only 2:00PM, so I'm going to my office to share some 55 year old Macallan and Cubans with my coworkers while I call my driver to let him know I want the bat mobile outside in 30 mins. Worst of it all, I only made $75k this week.

They are no Batman, although I disagree with vigilantism, the latest Batman had much character in the Bruce Wayne story.
And what they might be doing is a veiled threat that they might try to hurt the economy to keep up their racket, if they think that would work.
Why wouldn't they, they had no problem hurting the economy to make bonuses.
And that is one reason why they should not be setting social policy through consolidated ownership and lobbyist.
