*nice subject line huh?*

I spoke to our physical trainer rep (we have a rebate for people going to the gym at my workplace) who is taking a hiatus to work on a "big project in Tennessee". He was only working as a physical trainer since construction had slowed down. He is going to Tennessee to consult on what he said was a huge project. I immediately thought of the TVA during the New Deal but I didn't mention it. He said that it was a Recovery Act project. which confirmed my supposition.

After that he hopes to stay with the company as they tear up and replace the Reflecting Pool on the Mall between the Lincoln Memorial and Congress (with the Washington Monument between them). HUGE project.

I told him, "Sweet gig, you get to work on the Mall everyday". He laughed and said, "Yeah lots of running chicks!". We both laughed.

Power of suggestion after seeing the pictures of him tearing up at the funeral service for Dr Height.

3. No wonder my ESOL students find English so mystifying!
I misread it too. I thought he was going to give a speech and it would be so moving that both he and the audience would be in tears...
