Day 1 spill map vs. day 8 spill map ( interactive)
BP denied the oil spill at first, one of the reasons for the delay and the spread.

Interactive map here, day by day settings upper left hand corner.

PLUS: the page has tabs to who is who at BP, Trans-Ocean, how much money is made, where all the drilling is , etc.

4. Yeah...everything on one page, sorta, with good tabs.
I just found out TransOcean started in Birmingham Ala. of all places, then headquarted in the
Cayman Islands ( sounds suspicious) and recently moved headquarters to Switzerland.
Wonder if they are sue proof?

Have been seriously in the watery eyes mode for the past few days.

This ought to make all the red southern states think again, I'd say.

17. I think it may be up to three months
That's what they were originally saying anyway. That it would take 90-days to drill relief wells if they ended up going that route. Which is what they're reduced to doing now that everything else has failed.

30. they are talking about trying to crimp the pipe to restrict the flow and about
the "Dome" to try and capture new oil flowing out of the pipe which could then be pumped to the surface and placed into tankers.

I am hoping it doesn't take 90 or even 60 days to contain the new oil flowing out of the pipe.

18. thanks for this, very useful.... makes me wonder... anyone know
how they are going to drop a giant "dome" over the leak given all the various infrastructure that is at the bottom? I think most people believe its just a simple hole in the ocean floor spewing a single stream of oil.

20. Congress will do nothing now,
when it needs to act. It will, however, increase its take from oil lobbyists to kill any serious reform of that industry, and it will pass on the cost of this catastrophe to the public.

You still have to wash your bare feet, and scrub oil off your sandals. The beaches brown.
This stuff does not go away.
