Getting glares -- and smiles

Carried this sign yesterday at a protest. Quite a few honks and thumbs up. One guy, stuck at the stop light, glared at us and gunned his engine before peeling out when the light changed. It was really cold and the wind kicked up; my old bones started cussing and I wimped out after about forty minutes. Left the sign with one of the college kids who was able to jump up and down to stay warm.



There were about thirty of us, and a couple of journalists took pics and interviewed a few people. Sadly, there's nothing in the paper today. Not one word. Odd, seeing as how the thirty teabaggers who protested on tax day got inflated to 100 with their picture on the front page. Maybe they'll give tomorrow's gathering some coverage. Or not.

HIS LOOKS: Have you ever wondered what Jesus looked like? I have always pictured Jesus as a perfect looking man, almost on the order of how a child would think about Superman. A perfect height and weight, a muscular a man with a well proportioned body, beautiful hair and great facial features. Handsome as can be, after all, Jesus was the Son of God in the Flesh. There is a description of what Jesus looked like in the Bible. I don't know how you picture him, but this is what the Bible says concerning his looks. In Isaiah 53:2 We read "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He has no form or comeliness and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him". According to Prophet Isaiah there was nothing about his looks to draw men to him, that people would desire.

Jesus had no outstanding features, no beautiful hair, skin, eyes and so on. In fact, there was nothing about any part of his physical being (his flesh man) that you would desire to have for yourself. Isaiah described Jesus as a plain looking man. This may be one reason the Jews missed him? They, like many of us were probably looking for a GREEK GOD type of Messiah.

Jesus would have looked to be very ethnically Jewish for the Middle East and he definitely would be challenged in Arizona.
